Rugby Club Toulonnais and Trimane sign a 5-year contract to use Data Intelligence and Machine Learning as a tool to support sports performance.
Toulon, October 27, 2022 – Visionary and ambitious, Rugby Club Toulonnais is actively working to develop the sporting performance of its players while minimizing the risk of injury. To this end, the club and Trimane have announced the signature of a five-year strategic agreement, during which Trimane will implement its Coach IQ Data Intelligence and Machine Learning solution. The RCT will contribute its extensive sporting expertise to optimize this innovative and unique solution.
Sport and Big Data: a winning duo
For several seasons now, data has played an increasingly important role in the world of sport. Data analysis is now standard in professional sports, facilitating various applications—from assessing squad competitiveness and player complementarity to injury prevention and recruitment optimization.
Coach IQ, a French Data Intelligence tool
With 17 years of experience in Data Intelligence, Trimane has developed a range of performance optimization tools based on data science. The company’s DataLabs, comprising nearly 100 specialists in data issues, have created several R&D tools, including Coach IQ, which focuses on high-performance sports. This solution aims to offer ambitious athletes a tailored digital platform powered by highly precise algorithms.
The RCT and COACH IQ
Rugby Club Toulonnais and Coach IQ have collaborated to create a personalized platform that consolidates all data utilized by the club (medical data, GPS data, performance statistics, and video analysis). This tool will enable RC Toulon to leverage its data effectively and enhance decision-making related to tactical choices, training plan optimization, performance enhancement, and recruitment.
This partnership with the legendary Rugby Club Toulonnais will also allow Coach IQ to benefit from the expertise of the Rouge et Noir sports staff, refining its Machine Learning algorithms to better support RC Toulon’s path to victory.
