In an effort to make business intelligence accessible to all, TRIMANE is at the forefront of an ANR-funded research program launched in collaboration with academic partners: ELICO Lyon, ERIC Lyon, IRIT Toulouse, LIFAT Tours, Fing, and Tuba Lyon.

Our CBI² Datalab manager, Fatma ABDELEDI, plays a crucial role in this project, which aims to provide a simple, collaborative analytical platform available online to users with limited financial resources and technical expertise. This initiative specifically targets small organizations, freelancers, and citizens, responding to a growing societal demand for self-service and open data analysis. The approach involves automating machine learning processes, organized into the following stages:

  • Automatic data warehousing from diverse, heterogeneous data sources (considering semantics), delivered as a software-as-a-service mode,
  • Real-time data warehouse modeling,
  • Collaborative analysis of stored data,
  • Assisted data visualization and exploration,
  • Data confidentiality (privacy by design),
  • Experimentation and validation,
  • Evaluation of user appropriation.

BI4People aligns with a Big Data project by adhering to the three Vs: volume, variety (heterogeneity), and veracity throughout the storage and analysis process. Additionally, users must be able to easily understand the results from BI4People, both ergonomically and functionally. This necessitates original, multidisciplinary research at the intersection of computer science and information and communication sciences.

TRIMANE is involved in all stages of the project, contributing through its CBI² research and development entity in both scientific aspects and in experimentation and validation with its customers.

The consortium comprises partners recognized in their respective fields :

  • The ERIC laboratory : Expertise in OLAP analysis, BI customization and cryptography ;
  • IRIT : Specialization in data warehouse models, data integration and ETL processes ;
  • ELICO : Skills in usage studies ;
  • TRIMANE : Responsible for BI and Big Data R&D&I (the only company involved in the project);
  • Two citizens’ associations focused on “personal data”: TUBA in Lyon and FING (Fondation Internet Nouvelle Génération).
