Maintenance and evolution of the Decision Support Information System (DSI)

Context

Founded in 2004 by the French Bioethics Act, and placed under the supervision of the French Ministry of Health, the Agence de la Biomédecine (ABM) is a public health organization competent in the fields of transplants, reproduction, embryology and human genetics. The ABM plays an essential role in providing guidance, support, assessment and information to improve access to care and quality of life for patients.

Since the start of our assignment in 2019, our collaboration with the ABM has taken place in a complex and constantly changing regulatory context, requiring in-depth expertise in the maintenance and evolution of its Decision Support Information System (DIS). The latter enables the Agency to co-pilot, with authorized healthcare professionals, all the activities in its field

Challenges

The ABM is facing major challenges, notably the reliability, temporal and geographical accessibility of the SID, as well as its security (access control, authorizations, cybersecurity). The primary objective is to maintain and develop the control environments to enable the Agency to manage medical and biological activities, while integrating the regulatory (RGPD), quality, data retention and other dimensions.

Solutions & methodologies

Our approach is based on a solid implementation methodology for the project management phases. We have set up a dedicated service center to handle ABM requests, with a specific resource acting as AMOA between the Service Center and the ABM Project Managers.

The project management phases include assistance with project management, scoping and definition of requirements, application acceptance, and change management. The technologies used cover a wide spectrum, such as storage with Oracle, ETL/Data Prep with Informatica, and reporting with SAP BO BI 4, using languages such as SQL and Java.

Benefits

Thanks to this service, the company benefits from tangible, qualitative results :

  • More than 6,000 healthcare professionals regularly use the SID.
  • Significant improvement in reliability, accessibility and security.
  • Implementation of a dedicated service center.
  • Optimization of the DATA architecture has brought novelty and satisfaction, both internally and externally.

This collaboration with the ABM illustrates our commitment to excellence and our ability to provide comprehensive, innovative solutions in an environment as complex as the public health sector.
