Standardized reporting environment

 

Context

Téréga is a major player in the energy sector, specializing in the transport and storage of natural gas in France. Keen to improve its operational and economic performance, the company launched a digital transformation project, including the creation of a Data group (DataLab). As part of this drive to become a “Data Driven” organization, Téréga called on TRIMANE to standardize reporting management across all stakeholders, by adopting a flexible and scalable BI architecture.

Challenges

Faced with the diversity of its information and the need for effective data governance, Téréga entrusted TRIMANE with the study, selection and deployment of a complete BI architecture. The project aims to realize the Full Cloud vision of Téréga’s Information Systems Department (DSI), by opting for fully cloud-based data management and exploitation. The aim is also to deploy the data enhancement chain in an industrialized way, ensuring optimum use of company resources. To enable customer teams to adopt the new platform, training is essential, ensuring optimal use of its functionalities. Finally, comprehensive methodological support, including project scoping, regular audits, the establishment of a clear roadmap and the implementation of best practices, is essential to ensure the project’s success.

Solutions & methodologies

TRIMANE was commissioned by Téréga to carry out the study, selection and implementation of the BI architecture, with a Data Engineer mobilized for this mission. The technologies used included Google BigQuery for cloud data storage, Talend Integration Cloud for ETL/Data Prep, and Tableau Software for Data Viz. The project involved three main stages: a preliminary study consisting of technical audits and in-depth analysis of requirements, implementation of the solution with workshops to define the desired indicators and visual rendering, and consolidation of the data within the Data Lakes.
